A Silver Zebra

Last week while reading a few blogs, I came across this post on Third Floor Design Studio...

...and I screamed right in my computer's face because it was just too cute and easy. I had all the necessary ingredients- silver spray paint, and cute plastic animals in my kids' toy box. (They'll never miss just one.)

As luck would have it, my oldest was at school and the little ones are too young to care, so there was no one around to protest. My first plan was to grab the elephant I knew was in there, but as I rummaged around in the box, I saw this zebra, and since I've got zebra pillows on my couch, I screamed again and said "Perfect!!!"

I hurried him out to the yard and gave him several coats of silver spray paint

while my husband looked on from this window and gave me repeated "thumbs down" signs.

He's usually very supportive of my projects.
Unless I tell him I'm spray painting a toy and putting it on our coffee table.

I left it out on the porch to dry for the weekend, and Rob kept hinting that it might "run away"...
one morning I found it inexplicably under the wheel of the stroller.

But it made it to the coffee table and I think it's so dang cute!

Rob groaned when he saw it standing there this morning. I think I will turn it so it can watch him while he watches tv.

Who wouldn't love this face??

I love this little guy so much I'm thinking of making a whole zoo.

I know there are more animals in that toy box...an elephant and giraffe for sure.
We could have cute little silver animals watching us from all over the room!
*scream!*

  14. Haha! What a great story! I like the zebra. I like the gold elephant you showed too. I haven't sprayed any toy animals (yet) but my hubby would probably look at me crazy too. But he would go along with it...he's just nice that way. I can always tell when he's laughing on the inside! :)
